Your BFF, best friend, college roommate, sister or partner in crime may be in some of your best memories. But, did you know incorporating them into some of your workouts may be just as fun? There are a number of workouts that are just more fun with a friend or two. Forget what you’ve heard about a workout buddy getting in the way and grab your partner in crime for these exciting workouts:
Rock Climbing. If you’ve never thought of rock climbing as a workout before, now is the time to give it a try. Rocking climbing can be done solo, but really is better as a duo. With great communication and trust between your rock climbing partner, you can get in an awesome workout and enjoy some time with a friend. Never been rock climbing before? That’s okay! Look for an indoor climbing wall or an outdoor rock climbing class in your area.
Biking. Cycling is an awesome low-impact workout. Whether you are riding along the beach, a wooden trail or cycling for a cause, cycling is a great way to spend some time with a friend and catch up. Cycling can be a social event along with a great workout. Brining a friend along also has added benefits, it’s safer and can help make a long ride seem a lot shorter. Grab your bike, a helmet, some water and get cycling!
Hiking. Hiking is another awesome activity to do with a friend even though hiking can easily be completed solo. Hiking with a friend can allow you some time for chatting and someone to share amazing views with. As an added bonus, it’s always good to have a buddy along since most hiking locations are in remote areas, on challenging terrain and it can also be easy to get lost. It’s always good to have an extra set of eyes.
Dance Classes. Fitness dance classes can be fun. If you have never taken a fitness-base dance class before, you are in for a real treat. Fitness-based dance classes have upbeat music, plenty of fun moves and are high energy; making them a great way to burn calories. Even if you have two left feet, you can laugh and have a great time with your friends. It’s a social experience, which will make your fitness class seem like much less of a workout. Consider Zumba, Latin dancing, pole dancing or hip-hop. Even if you have no idea what is going on, you are guaranteed a good laugh.
Boot Camp or CrossFit. If you are up for a little friendly competition, boot camp or crossfit is the perfect opportunity to have a good time. Perhaps, the loser buys smoothies after your class? Taking a friend to one of these classes is a great way to increase the intensity and raise the bar on your own fitness routine. Afterall, nobody likes to lose!
