As you know by now if you’ve been receiving my emails for any length of time, I LOVE putting out my weekly video on YouTube. It gives me a chance to share either a training technique I’ve come across that I feel is working really well, a nutrition tip, a whole workout, whatever I think you’ll benefit from in and out of the gym.
“Inner Chest, Outer Chest Upper Chest, Lower Chest…” Perhaps no muscle group in the body is broken down, isolated, and obsessed about more than the chest. And even though it sounds like the start of a Dr. Seuss book, it’s actually not completely without merit. Let me explain…you see…when muscles contract they do so following the “ALL OR NONE” principle…which means that it either contracts or it doesn’t, there is no “sorta” here!
“How hard should I be working out?” This is a common question that, unfortunately, doesn’t have a simple answer. You see…the instinct is to say “As hard as you can.” But the reality is that in some cases, it’s not possible or even the right advice (without sacrificing form, overtraining or completely missing the muscle you were supposed to be training in the first place!)
